IXX-reisverslag India 2012
IXX` reis naar India was een succes! We hebben de voorbereidingen getroffen voor een grote order van een bijzondere klant (hierover binnenkort meer..!) en er zijn weer wat nieuwe lijntjes uitgezet... We zijn best trots op het feit dat er momenteel 55 Indiase ambachtsmensen aan het werk zijn voor IXX...! Ook is er een nieuwe levering producten onderweg naar Nederland. Dat betekent dat we weer ALLE sjaals op voorraad hebben! 100% HAND-geweven natuurlijk... van die mooie organische katoen!

IXX` India-trip was a great success! We prepared for a big order for a special partner (more information is coming soon..!) and we came across some new opportunities... We are kind of proud of the fact that right now we have 55 Indian craftsmen and -women working for IXX...! A new package filled with beautiful products is on its way to Holland which means we have ALL shawls back in stock! 100% HAND-woven of course... in a beautiful organic cotton!

In deze tekening is te zien dat de plaid de basis vormt voor de hele collectie - alle andere producten (kussens en sjaals) komen hieruit voort. Dit design-concept symboliseert IXX` motto "het geheel is meer dan de som der delen"... Alle producten kunnen (zoals wij mensen) als individu functioneren maar zijn ook onderdeel van een groter geheel.
Oh, en vertelden we al dat alle maatvoeringen (patronen EN productafmetingen) gebaseerd zijn op de Fibonacci-verhoudingen...? Deze universele reeks getallen werd in het oude India al gebruikt om het onderliggende ritme van poezie weer te geven. De Fibonacci-reeks komt vaak voor in de natuur (in de groei van bomen, planten en het menselijk lichaam). IXX werkt graag met deze `geheime codes` omdat het een manier is om onze fascinatie voor het `ontstaan der dingen` uit te drukken!
In this drawing you can see that the plaid is the base-design for the entire collection - all other products (cushions and shawls) derive from it. This design-concept symbolizes IXX` motto "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts"... All products (like us human beings) can function as an individual yet are they part of a bigger whole.
Oh, and did we mention that all measurements (patterns AND product-sizes) are based on Fibonacci-numbers...? This universal range of numbers was used in ancient India to measure the underlying rythm of poetry. The Fibonacci-sequences are often found in nature (in the growth of plants, trees and the human body). IXX loves to work with sacred / secret geometry as it`s a way to express that there`s so much more than meets the eye!
